The press has been full of articles discussing how Boards should be more representative of the organisations they lead. Clearly this discussion has focused on the issue of gender diversity and how to encourage more women onto Board positions and the success or otherwise of recent initiatives. However, diversity is not just about gender – the need to improve diversity in terms of gender, ethnicity, experience and background matters to improve the reputation and in fact, the decision making of Boards across all sectors.
This Socia dinner brought together a highly experienced group of Board members from a range of businesses in the Private, Public and Third Sectors to discuss the progress that has been made and the barriers to further progress in this important area.
